Old student contacts or addresses remain in EZRouting after a SIS update

Audience: Transportation admins
Purpose: Understand student contact and address settings for the SIS data sync.

Symptom

You updated a student's contact or address in your SIS, but the old one still shows in EZRouting after the sync.

Cause

EZRouting is set to keep student contacts and addresses even when they're no longer in the nightly SIS file. When a record updates in your SIS, the new value syncs in as the student's primary, but the previous contacts and addresses stay on the record.

How to fix it

  1. Click the Person icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Under Data Sync, locate the two checkboxes: Remove student contacts not in SIS file and Remove student addresses not in SIS file.
  3. Select one or both, depending on which records you want EZRouting to keep in sync with your SIS.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Run a new sync or wait for the next nightly sync. EZRouting will then show only the contacts and addresses currently in your SIS.
