Create and Restore Backups

EZRouting lets you save named backups — point-in-time snapshots of your routing data. Take a backup before a large change (such as a rollover, mass import, or batch edit) so you can restore your data if you need to undo the change.

Opening Backups

From the profile menu, go to Settings > Backups. You’ll see a list of existing backups, each with a Backup Name, a Description, and the date and time it was created.

Creating a backup

  1. On the Backups screen, click Add.
  2. Enter a Backup Name and a Description so you can identify the snapshot later (for example, “Before 2025–2026 rollover”).
  3. Click Save. The backup is added to the list with the current date and time.

To change only the name or description of an existing backup without creating a new one, use the Update name and description only option.

Restoring a backup

Select a backup from the list and click Restore to revert your data to that snapshot.

Important: Restoring replaces current data with the data from the backup. Consider taking a fresh backup of the current state first so you can return to it if needed.

Deleting a backup

Select a backup and click Delete to remove it from the list.
