Short Answer
You’ll use a secure SFTP connection to send nightly SIS exports (e.g., from Skyward) into EZRouting, following a Pathwise-provided template and credentials.
Why This Happens
EZRouting relies on consistent, automated student data syncs from your SIS to keep routing data current.
For many SIS platforms, this is done via scheduled SFTP pushes of CSV files in a standard layout.
What You Can Do
Obtain SFTP details and templates
EZRouting Support will provide:
SFTP host, port, path, username, password.
A sample student file and layout template your SIS export should match.
Configure SIS export (e.g., Skyward)
Work with your SIS admin to:
Build an export that matches the EZRouting template.
Include required identifiers (student ID, school, status, etc.).
Schedule the recurring job
Set a nightly SIS job to push data between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time, or in the agreed-upon window, to avoid conflicts with daily operations.
Validate initial loads
After the first runs:
Confirm student counts and sample records in EZRouting.
Check for errors or rejects in SIS/EZRouting logs.
When to Contact Support
If you:
Need SFTP credentials or updated templates.
See repeated import failures or missing students after the sync window.
Include:
SIS type (e.g., Skyward),
Sample files (with sensitive data removed/redacted where appropriate), and
Error messages from either side.
Support can validate file structure and scheduling details and help you get to a stable nightly sync.
