Short Answer
Use separate trips (To-School/From-School) or runs on the same route with distinct stop times for each visit to the school (e.g., 8:15, 11:15, 12:15).
Why This Happens
Some schools run multiple programs with different schedules, requiring the bus to:
Drop students at one time, then
Return later for another drop or pickup.
If everything is modeled as a single trip with a single school stop time, EZRouting may not allow the additional “run” as expected.
What You Can Do
Model each visit as its own trip segment
Example for Route 110:
Trip 1 (To-School AM) – Drop at 8:15.
Trip 2 (Midday Drop) – Drop at 11:15.
Trip 3 (Midday Pickup) – Pickup at 12:15.
Assign the same bus/driver across trips
Ensure the vehicle and driver are assigned consistently so that:
The driver’s schedule reflects back-to-back activities with idle time between trips as needed.
Validate for conflicts
Use schedule and conflict tools to make sure:
No overlapping trips for the same bus/driver.
Travel and layover times between trips are realistic.
When to Contact Support or Training
If you still cannot get the route to accept a second run to the same school:
Share the route number, intended times, and a brief description of the use case in a ticket.
Support or a routing specialist can walk through how to structure multi-visit trips for your specific scenario.
