Audience: Transportation admins and staff
Purpose: Create and manage school records, define boundaries and walkzones, configure bell schedules and notifications, and manage feed school relationships for accurate routing and rollover.
Overview
The Schools section is the foundation for routing, eligibility, and student assignment in EZRouting. School records define where students attend, when buses arrive and depart, how walk eligibility is determined, and how students transition between schools year over year.
Use this section to:
- Create and maintain school records
- Define bell schedules that drive route timing
- Configure walkzones and geographic boundaries
- Set up notification contacts
- Manage feed school relationships for rollover
What a School Record Controls
A school record determines:
- Which students attend the school
- Bell times used for route timing
- Walkzone and boundary rules
- Notification recipients
- Feed school relationships for rollover
Schools are referenced by Students, Stops, Routes, and Reports. Accurate school setup is critical before building routes.
Key Dependencies
- Students must be assigned to a school
- Routes reference school bell times
- Walkzones and boundaries affect stop eligibility
