Manage Hazard Zones and Boundaries

Audience: Transportation admins and staff
Purpose: Create and manage hazard zones or school boundaries that affect stop placement.

Steps to Create a Zone

  1. Navigate to Profile icon in upper right hand corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select the General down arrow menu and scroll down to Zones
  4. Use the Search field to search an address or geo coordinates. 
  5. Click + ADD NEW ZONE
  6. Draw the area directly on the map creating a polygon. When the polygon is completed double-click.
  7. To rename the newly created zone, click the pencil icon for that stop in the list. 
  8. Name the zone (e.g., River Hazard Area or Lincoln Elementary Boundary).
  9. Select Save and Apply.

Steps to Remove a Zone

  1. Navigate to Profile icon in upper right hand corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select the General down arrow menu and scroll down to Zones
  4. Find the zone you want to remove in the list of zones.
  5. Click the trash can icon for that zone. The zone won't be fully removed until you save your changes.
  6. Click the green Save & Apply button to finalize your update.

Tips

  • Hazard zones visually flag restricted areas when adding stops.
  • Review zones annually to adjust for construction or road changes.
  • Save and Apply typically takes a few minutes before going into effect.
