Group Assign Students to a Stop

Audience: System administrators and transportation staff. 
Purpose: Group assign is designed to assign a group of students in a similar geographic region to a single stop and route. You can choose to filter the students you would wish to find or simply navigate around the map.

How to Use Group Assign

  1. Access Group Assign
    • Click the Group Assign button in the Operations Menu.
  2. Select Students
    • You can either:
      • Use filters to find specific students, or
      • Navigate the map and select students visually.
    • After clicking Group Assign, you’ll be prompted to draw a polygon around the students you want to assign.
    • Note: The selected group must include fewer than 100 students.
  3. Choose a Stop
    • Once the polygon is drawn, select a suitable stop for these students by:
      • Choosing from the dropdown list of stops.
      • Clicking a stop directly on the map.
      • Clicking the ‘+’ button to create a new stop on the map.
  4. Add to Trips
    • Click Add to Trips.
    • You’ll then select a route for this group.
    • The system will notify you if:
      • The students’ school(s) are not included in the route.
      • The chosen stop is not part of the route.
  5. Assign Trips
    • Choose the best trips for these students on the selected route.
    • A visual map preview of the trip will be displayed.
  6. Save Your Changes
    • Once satisfied with your selections, click Save to complete the process.
