Send Real-time Notifications via Email or Text - Students

Audience: Transportation admin. and staff

Purpose: Real-time notifications are used to inform parents, guardians, administrators, drivers, and/or students of current updates. 

Steps

Students Tab

1.  In the Students tab, navigate to the Operations tab, use the down arrow and select Real Time Notifications.

2. Use the Message field to input the desired message. 

3. Select the Send Text box to send the message as a SMS text message. 

4. Select the Send Email box to send the message as an email.

5. To send both SMS text message and email select both checkboxes. 

6. Ensure all desired students are checked with a green checkmark below and select Send

7. Premade templates are available under Message Templates. To select a premade Message Template, navigate to the Message Templates box and select the desired message. 

8. To select a filtered group of students to send a message, select the grey bar Filters. These Filters can be by route, trip, stop, school and grade, 

Routes Tab

  1. To send a Real Time Notification through the Routes tab, navigate to the Routes tab and open the desired route. 
  2.  Once the Route has opened, select the Route Properties  by selecting the three vertical dots. 
  3. Once the Route Properties open, select the Real Time Notifications icon to send a message. 
  4. The message will only be sent to the students assigned to this Route. 
  5. To send a message to students a specific stop within a route, select on the Stop within the Route.
  6. In the Stop property, select the Real Time Notifications icon.
