Audience: Transportation admins and staff
Purpose: Correct or assign map coordinates for a student’s address. View or edit a student’s exact latitude and longitude for address accuracy and routing precision.

Steps

1. Open the student record.
2. Scroll to the Addresses section.
3. Click Geocode Address.
   
4. Review the suggested location on the map.
5. If incorrect, drag the map pin to the correct location or enter coordinates manually.
6. To Manually: enter the Latitude and Longitude values below the address in their designated fields.
7. To select the address placement on the map: select the first pin icon to the right of the Latitude and Longitude fields and proceed to click on the map where you would like the coordinates.
8. Click Save.
9. Verify the new coordinates display next to the address.

Tips

• Use Validate Address before saving if available.
• Use coordinates from verified GIS data sources.
• Re-geocode addresses after major boundary updates.

• To change an address's geocode coordinates for permanently for future mapping select the third icon in red to the right of the Latitude and Longitude fields.
