Set your Maximum Walking Distance, Max On-Board Time, and Student Load Time. Choose whether or not you want to use the AM pickup stop from student transportation plans and if each route should contain only one school. Select your generation method to be by Region or by Sector. From there you can add Tiers and choose the start and end times as well as set the bus capacities and select which students to include in these Routes. When everything has been set to your liking, click on Generate Routes and allow the system to build your routes.

When you're working inside of a sandbox and without cloning default routes, a quick way to create routes is to use the Auto Generate Routes function.
Before using the function, please ensure you have created all the stops or copied default stops you would like to use in the routes. If you don't have stops generated yet, you can go to the Stops tab, use the Auto Generate Stop function, and remember that a depot is required to use the Auto Generate Routes function.
Go back to the Routes tab. You can find the Auto Generate function in the Operations menu.
When using the Auto Generate Routes function, set your maximum walking distance, max onboard time, and student load time. Choose whether or not you want to use the AM pickup stop from student transportation plans and if each route should contain only one school.
Select your generation method to be by region or by bisector. From there, you can add tiers and choose the start and end times, as well as set the bus capacities and select which students to include in these routes.
When everything has been set to your liking, click on Generate Routes and allow the system to build your routes.
You can use the Show All Routes function to overview the results. You can also use the Manually Adjust Routes function to modify them.
Tips
The difference between generate routes BY REGION and BY SECTOR.
If you generate routes by region, the system will divide the area where student live into different regions and generate optimal routes clustered.
If you generate routes by sector, the system will divide the area by radial grid and generate the optimal routes.
